What Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Details: Email address, name, password (encrypted)
  • Billing Information: Credit card details are processed by Stripe - we never see or store your full card number
  • Inspection Data: Everything you enter - establishments, inspection points, photos, temperature records, reports
  • Contact Information: Names and emails of people associated with establishments you inspect

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent in the app
  • Device Information: Browser type, IP address, device type
  • Cookies: Small files that help us keep you logged in and remember your preferences

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide the Inspector A service to you
  • Process your payments and manage your subscription
  • Send inspection reports via email when you request
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve the product based on usage patterns
  • Send important service updates (we won't spam you with marketing)

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your inspection data to train AI models
  • Share your client information with competitors
  • Send your data to advertisers

Data Security

Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest on our servers.

Backups: We back up your data regularly to prevent loss.

Access Controls: Only you and your authorized team members can access your data. Our staff can only access your data when you request support and with your permission.

Photo Storage: Photos are stored securely with tenant-specific isolation. Only you can access your inspection photos.

Data Retention

Active Accounts: We keep your data as long as your account is active.

After Cancellation: If you cancel, we retain your data for 30 days in case you change your mind. After 30 days, we permanently delete it.

Backups: Deleted data may persist in backups for up to 90 days, then is permanently purged.

Export First: Before canceling, export any data you want to keep. We provide PDF and CSV export options.

Inspector A is operated in the United States. If you're outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.

Service Emails: We'll send important account updates, billing notifications, and service announcements. You can't opt out of these.

Marketing Emails: If we send promotional content (which we rarely do), you can unsubscribe anytime.

Inspection Reports: Emails you generate to send reports to your clients are sent at your direction.

Refund Policy

The Short Version

We don't offer refunds, but you can cancel anytime with no penalties. When you cancel, you keep access through the end of your current billing period. The Starter plan is free forever, so you can always try before you buy.


No Refunds Policy

Inspector A operates on a no refunds basis for the following reasons:

You can try it free first: The Starter plan gives you 5 inspections per month at no cost. This lets you fully test the product before committing to a paid plan.

Monthly billing, not annual: You're only committing one month at a time. There are no long-term contracts or annual plans that lock you in.

Immediate access: When you upgrade, you get instant access to all features. We can't "take back" the value you received.

How Cancellation Works

Cancel Anytime: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. No phone calls required, no hoops to jump through.

Access Through Billing Period: When you cancel, you continue to have full access to your paid plan until the end of your current billing period.

No Partial Refunds: If you cancel mid-month, you won't receive a refund for unused days. You'll simply keep access until your paid period ends.

Automatic Downgrade: After your paid period expires, your account automatically converts to the free Starter plan (5 inspections/month).

Example Timeline

You subscribe on January 15 for $129/month:

  • Charged $129 on January 15
  • Full access to Pro plan

You cancel on January 25:

  • No refund for the 20 unused days in January
  • You keep Pro access through February 14
  • On February 15, you're not charged again
  • On February 15, you drop to Starter plan (5 inspections/month)

Free Plan Details

Starter Plan Features:

  • 5 inspections per month
  • 1 user
  • All core features included
  • Never expires
  • Inspector A branding on reports

This gives you a safety net. If you cancel a paid plan, you still have access to the core product.

Billing Issues

Failed Payment: If your payment fails, we'll retry up to 3 times over 7 days. If payment still fails, your account downgrades to Starter.

Accidental Charges: If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at billing@inspectora.com within 5 days. We'll investigate and make it right.

Technical Problems: If Inspector A experiences major technical issues that prevent you from using the service for more than 48 consecutive hours, contact us. We'll work with you on a fair resolution.

Downgrading vs. Canceling

Downgrade to Starter: You can downgrade from Pro or Team to Starter at any time. This keeps your account and data but reduces your monthly inspections to 5.

Full Cancellation: If you want to close your account entirely, you can do so in settings. Your data will be retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted.

Why This Policy Is Fair

Try Before You Buy: The free Starter plan lets you test drive Inspector A with real inspections before spending money.

No Lock-In: Monthly billing means you're never stuck. One month at a time.

Keep What You Paid For: You don't lose access immediately when you cancel. Use your remaining time.

Always Have Access: Even after canceling paid plans, you drop to Starter, not zero.

Transparent Pricing: No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no contracts.


Bottom Line: We earn your business every month. If Inspector A isn't saving you time and making your work better, you should cancel. No hard feelings, no penalties. We'd rather have customers who love the product than customers who feel trapped.
